Transport by truck is extremely important for potatoes and sugar beets. Reason enough to devote a spotlight to the topic of agricultural logistics. At the trade fair, we want to establish a platform for trucks and even more for special trailers – whether with moving floors, conveyor belts, or potato crates – but also for covering technology and logistics software. Exhibitors with suitable logistics solutions are invited to contact us. The spotlight will be enriched by in-depth information on legal and business management issues. Martin Vaupel, Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture, will answer questions from trade visitors.

Visitors can expect live demonstrations, practical tips and expert discussions showing how autonomous machines and digital systems are making agriculture more efficient and sustainable. Discover innovations that are already changing the industry today and exchange ideas with manufacturers and experts. With the FarmRobotix platform, the DLG brings together farmers, manufacturers, researchers and investors to show how pioneering technology is changing agriculture.

Spotlight: Organic Potatoes – Grown Sustainably, Marketed Successfully

This year, DLG highlights the opportunities and challenges of organic potato production. Visitors will gain concise insights into variety selection, weed control, and nutrient management without the use of synthetic chemical inputs.
The main partner of the Spotlight is BKE e.V. (Bio Potato Growers Association), which has developed the content together with DLG and provides a comprehensive overview of the organic potato sector. The Spotlight is further supported by Bioland and Naturland. At the heart of the Spotlight is the presentation of the organic potato industry, including its market structures, current challenges, and future development prospects. Expert talks, short demonstrations, and discussions with specialists illustrate how organic potatoes can be produced sustainably and successfully positioned in the marketplace.
In addition, eight breeders will present their organic potato varieties on a dedicated trial plot. A second demonstration area will showcase and explain the practical application of hoeing and harrowing in organic potato production. Every day at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., visitors can gain hands-on insights into the demonstrated cultivation methods and varieties directly at the demonstration plots. The program is complemented by presentations and panel discussions on the Expert Stage as well as contributions in the Mobile Showbox.

Bio Kartoffel Erzeuger e.V. (BKE) is an association representing more than 250 organic farms across Germany that grow organic potatoes and organic onions.
One of the association’s most important activities is communication. Strong networking among all stakeholders within the organic value chain helps to strengthen mutual understanding between farmers, marketing organizations, and trading companies. By providing a high level of market transparency and market information, BKE supports individual farm marketing decisions and contributes to a better-informed industry.
At the same time, agricultural topics and up-to-date data from organic potato and onion production are collected and shared with industry stakeholders, providing valuable insights throughout the sector.
The association’s goal is to ensure that consumers have access to domestically produced organic potatoes and organic onions for as long as possible throughout the year, while strengthening organic farming at the regional level.
